‘My kids were very excited seeing it!’ sounds ok.
You can put it so many ways, but ‘My kids were very excited to see it!’ feels more comfortable to me.

I’ve been often confused to put “ing” words to add the simultaneous motion. You need the subujective word after ‘with’? like “Don’t drive a care with you using a cell phone”
Oh no… its ‘car’…
“Don’t drive a car using a cell phone” is best. You can also say “Don’t drive a car while using a cell phone.”
‘While’ might be the key word for you with simultaneous actions. Try it out!
You know, I might get a summer job at one of the Japanese factories in my town. My friend Kana-chan has been the go-between. They need someone to refresh the newly transfered employees on survival English. I think they really just want someone the talk to them everyday so they’re more comfortable with foreigners. If I don’t get it, that’s ok. But it would a be funny job.
