This is the historical Sento drawing in 1867 (from Wikipedia “Sento”)It’s basically the same as new sento, but now you can take a super sento /スーパー銭湯 that is more luxurious and modernized.
There are 4 or 5 super sentos within easy driving distance, so I often go to one of them by rotation.
You can stay all day long if you want! My mother does! (^.^)
I wonder if it’s common thing all over Japan that they drink a bottle of milk after taking a bath??? Is it a curious habit of people in the Kansai district? I never drink a bottle of milk after a bath. I had one as a child, but now, it might make me sick! But I’ve seen a bottled milk vending machine at every super sento I’ve visited in Kansai area. My kids have already gotten in habit of drinking it.
