The typhoon has hit west side of Japan and it brings heavy rain. It still keeps raining. This morning when I got to my office, on just about 200ms long way from the parking lot to the office, I got soaking wet…..
I wonder why the Japanese business men and women wear suits or good outfits even though they know they will be caught by a storm? As a business man or woman, you should look tidy whenever you are? We can have a stromy-day dress code, can’t we? But I know you have to be bothered waht you should wear for it. Me too.
台風、大雨警報が出たら、ビーサンに短パンTシャツで出勤できたらいいのにな。うちの会社、もっと波風がひどい台風の時には車に波しぶきがかかるって…そんな日は休みたい。(>_<)
All the lawyers I used to work for wore suits even if it’s 118° F ( 48° C) outside, you’d think because we’re in the middle of a desert that they’d relax their dress code, but no, they wear suits it doesn’t matter how hot it is.
wow…suits in a desert…I thought the American people are very free about fashion, but is it only in private, right?
Right. Only a few professions refuse to give up their suits, lawyers in particular. Our offices used to be so kept so cold because all the lawyers were wearing long-sleeve dress shirts and ties. Sometimes on Friday, if they didn’t have a trial or hearing to attend they would come dressed a little more casual, dress slacks, short-sleeve dress shirt, and a tie, but they always kept an extra shirt and suit coat just in case an important client was to drop by unexpectedly.
