I’d guess close to zero pack their lunch, but a fair number have wives (or mothers who do it for them). The big difference between Japan and the U.S. is that men generally have to be responsible for themselves in a way that Japanese men do not.
Do you think it’s ok to call the sack lunch, like an apple and peanuts butter sand, as a bento? If it can be included in bento, the number of men bento-maker increases.
I think you should have a box to pack at least to call it as a bento and you should take 10 minutes at least to pack it.
My husband hasn’t packed a lunch in over 30 years! He even expects me to fill a plate for him when we go to parties, he says: “You know what I like better than I do.”
Im like Az, when my husband and i go to social parties or dinners I sometimes fill the plate for him ^_^ but I make sure he doesnt get use to it always hehehehe ..Ive been packing his lunch eversince I moved in with him…and every week mornings its now a habit that i make for us both a glass of freshly squeezed juice.
How many men pack their lunch in Japan?

But 愛妻弁当 is a wonderful gift from a wife everyday. Made with care.

A flass of freshly squeezed juice! How nice to start the day with a glass of juice. It’s good for your health, too! Your husband is so lucky!
